A side income makes all the difference
Given the constant rise in the South African economy, most people could do with a solid income for each month or try and make side income. However, this isn’t always possible because some jobs don’t pay as well as others do and in many cases some households only have a single bread winner. For those who can spare extra time, there are ways to make extra money and supplement your current income or the income status of your household.
How to make money on the side from home
Earning side income whilst having a full-time job can be excruciating for many, this is even more so if you don’t have the time to maintain the demands of both jobs. Removals is a good industry in constant need of its services, so if you own a workhorse and can spare the time for example weekends when you not at your day job, your services will be handy.
You can try becoming an agent for a product such as beauty care or health and fitness for example. Many companies employ agents to promote and sell their products to the wider market, some people are born with the “gift of the gab” and can do well selling items. In your own time you could sell these products and build a customer base which could open the door to you being your own boss.
You can also consider ways to make extra income by becoming a freelancer. Many people resort to freelancing, whether doing this online or in person. Freelancing has vast niches like photography, interior design, real estate and lots more. Thus, if you are perfected in a field or have a degree and experience, then why not promote yourself and work in your own time.
Working online making extra money
The Internet provides ample opportunity to make side income and there are plenty of lucrative ways that you can achieve this. Working from home is a better option especially for mums who can’t afford to fully focus on a full-time job whilst juggling tasks at home, kids and other.
There are also several ways to make extra money online and these include but are not limited to writing, vlogging (video blogs), graphic design, social media and online surveys. You can also make use of platforms to sell items online, or use it to sell your services.
A major key player in maintaining an extra income whilst having a full-time job will probably be being able to make time for both. Plan your days, use your off days from your regular job to compensate your side work for example tutoring, coaching or taking the couple’s wedding photos who hired you. If your full-time job only allows for fewer hours a day, then you can supplement the rest of the day to tackle your side job. Side income jobs may require just as much attention and dedication as your full-time job and for this reason not many people are able to manage both, but if this is something you can do then it’s something worthwhile.
